We were recently asked by Anhydritec to test several of the company’s calcium sulphate screeds for compatibility with Bostik products. The testing was based on the standard application of subfloor preparation products atop of the screed, and included:
- Gyvlon® Calcium Sulphate Flow Screed 75%RH or lower
- Gyvlon® Calcium Sulphate Flow Screed 87%RH or lower
- Gyvlon® FD-E2C Flow Screed 92%RH or lower
Key takeaways from the testing were as follows:
For Gyvlon® Calcium Sulphate Flow Screed 75%RH or lower, Bostik GRIP A526 Universal Primer Is recommended for use at a ratio of 1:3 (one part primer to three parts cold clean water) for the first coat, and 1:2 for the second coat, followed by a suitable Bostik smoothing compound once the primer is dry
For Gyvlon® FD-E2C Flow Screed 92%RH or lower, the application of Bostik HYTEC E570 One Coat Membrane is recommended, followed by an undiluted coat of Bostik GRIP A936 Xpress Primer or Bostik GRIP A526 Universal Primer once the DPM has cured
The results were based on all products being used in accordance with the information available on the current technical datasheet.
